Today an idea for a passage struck me. I describe a certain political party like this.
It seems they contest the elections just for gaining publicity. And they do get it bigtime. What they want that publicity for? There are many theories. Some say they earn by endorsments. Some say just for the heck of it. It also at times seems that the main stream parties use this party to divert the votes against their opponents.
They lose in elections. They do it consistently. Their chances of losing are almost like those of the Indian cricket team except that while the former believe in themselves for that, the latter believe only in luck.

The idea
What with all this buzz about 61st Independence day, I got an inspiration for a fiction. I decided to blog the evolution of the plot as it progresses.
Here we go with the initial bits....
It is one of those stories which shows how far a strong will and strong character can go. The society pushes the protagonist (yet to be named, lets call him H) into some sort of illegal activity early in his life. May be a pimp. That brings him into the circle of the elitists in the country.
Circumstances leads him to a chance to own a major business in the country. He gets addicted to his new life and uses all his resourcefulness and strength of character to expand his business empire. Being so far in background and away from public eye, gets the taste of limelight and fame accidentally and begins to savor it. He starts activities to increase his PR value.
As I write this, I begin to debate wether the protagonist should be a male or female. I prefer it to be female, but let me keep it undecided as of now. Depends on wether i get ideas to make a female logically do all the things i plan for the character.
Coming to the plot, due to a mixture of reasons involving the state of affairs in the country and in the state of mind of people who matter and cunning of the (wo)man him(her)self, (s)he becomes the President of India. (Ok. its not easy typing like this. for the moment i'll assume its a guy).
The reason for him to take the 'mother of all challanges' head-on and how successful he is at it forms the remaining story.
I dont think this is going to develop any fast pace. I'll keep updating this as and when i get time and ideas.
